On the verge of completing three months of operation, the Hospital da Mulher do Pará (HMPA) is already establishing itself as a landmark in women's health care in the state. This Friday (6), the unit reached the milestone of 10,000 ed women and approximately 60,000 appointments made, including consultations, exams, and specialized surgeries.

The 10,000th patient was Ivaneide Abreu, a resident of Abaetetuba, in the Baixo Tocantins region. Referred by the municipal health center to undergo an MRI, she arrived at the hospital on public transport with other women from the city. During the trip, she heard s of the different services offered and was surprised by the structure of the unit.
“It is very important for us, women, to take care of our health. I came to do an exam and discovered that I can undergo several other procedures here. I am really enjoying it; the service is wonderful,” praised Ivaneide.

Welcoming structure and humanized care
Designed to be more than a health center, the HMPA offers an environment focused on the comfort and well-being of patients. The facilities include air-conditioned rooms, natural lighting, a therapeutic garden, and social areas. The goal is to provide a welcoming experience from arrival to the end of the service.
In addition to the infrastructure, the hospital invests in the continuous training of the multidisciplinary team, ensuring an attentive and empathetic approach to the specific needs of women. The focus is to provide comprehensive, humanized, and effective care.

“More than numbers, it’s about welcome and dignity”
For the general director of HMPA, intensivist physician Nelma Machado, the hospital's proposal goes beyond numbers and statistics.
“We want every woman to feel welcomed from the moment she enters the unit. Our commitment is to respectful care, with a comprehensive view of women's health and dignity,” she emphasizes.
The HMPA is part of a state public policy that prioritizes access to women's health, combining technical quality and a positive service experience. The goal now is to expand the capacity for assistance and consolidate the hospital as a regional reference in humanized care.
