The Junino Auto program began this Friday (6) at Núcleo Curro Velho, featuring the show "The Colors of São João," presented by children, teenagers, and adults participating in the artistic initiation workshops of the Cultural Foundation of Pará (F). The program continues until Sunday (9), always starting at 5 PM, with cultural manifestations, dances, typical foods, and a creative fair.

The event is part of the Arraial de Todos os Santos, promoted by F, and marks the second stage of the June festivities, succeeding the Flight of the June Birds, held on May 31 at the Casa das Artes. This year, Curro Velho presents the results of the workshops that started in April, reinforcing its role in artistic and cultural training in the Telégrafo neighborhood and surrounding areas.

Art, inclusion, and community

The president of F, Thiago Miranda, invited the public to enjoy the show. "It’s a very beautiful party, with inclusive dance, many children, and the whole family participating in this great moment. Come celebrate with us!"

Professor Carol Alves, a former student and current instructor at Curro Velho, highlighted the impact of the training actions. "It’s always wonderful to work with children. We come on weekends to them, and they love being here. Curro Velho is a space that welcomes, shelters, and teaches."

Art teacher Carla, mother of Maria Flor, 10 years old — a student at Curro Velho since she was four — emphasized the importance of the space in child development. "She loves this environment and feels at home here. This social interaction, communication, and with art are essential at this stage of life."
