Enrollment open for training on care for people with autism in Pará y1dx
In-person training from ETSUS and CIIR takes place at the first public center in Brazil focused on training professionals about Autism Spectrum Disorder linked to the SUS 5kb1a

State and municipal health workers who provide care for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) can enroll in the first class of 2025 for the training course "It is Necessary to Monitor: The Importance of Monitoring Child Development in Autism Spectrum Disorder."
The training will be held in person at the Specialized Center for Autism Spectrum Disorder (Cetea), which is part of the health complex of the Integrated Center for Inclusion and Rehabilitation (CIIR) in Belém, from June 23 to 27. Cetea is the first training center for professionals in Brazil for assisting people with ASD.
The course is part of the 1st Training Axis of an initiative from the Technical School of the Unified Health System of Pará "Dr. Manuel Ayres" (ETSUS/PA), linked to the State Department of Public Health (Sespa), and is exclusively intended for health workers who operate within the Unified Health System (SUS), especially those from the 144 municipalities in the 12 Integration Regions of the state of Pará.
With a workload of 50 hours, divided between theoretical and practical classes, the course aims to qualify professionals for the early identification and systematic monitoring of the child development of children with autism.
Classes – A total of seven classes will be offered throughout the second semester, with 20 spots each, totaling 140 trained professionals. Interested individuals must fill out the form available on the ETSUS website: www.saude.pa.gov.br/rede-sespa/etsus.
Cetea is located at Rua Presidente Pernambuco, nº 489, Batista Campos neighborhood, in Belém. Classes will be held from 7 AM to 12 PM and from 2 PM to 7 PM, with activities in the classroom, mirror room, therapy room, and auditorium.
